AUGUST 2010

There are 6 rounds left in the GNC season. Brad is second in points in the Pro Singles Class.  He’s been playing catch up to Jeffrey Carver ever since he went down on the last lap at Gas City and lost a lot of points. If he can keep Jeffrey behind him in the next races, he has a chance! He was able to ride the twins class twice on a special provisional license and made the main both times (special thanks to the Cheza’s and Tony Dodge for the use of their bikes). He will be able to ride it one more time at Prescott, Arizona. Scott has been riding the local pro races and winning the majority of them. He won both WCFTS races in Oregon a couple of weekends ago and is leading the Wildcat series. Brad is having t-shirts made – they will be available in a couple of weeks. If anyone is interested in buying one, please give us a call at 360/291/3904. See you at the races!

March 2010
We just got back from Daytona. The outdoor season is officially under way. We had some good races, but felt that we should have done better. The positive side is that we're very focused and determined to do better next time. Be sure to check out Brad's race report. Something exciting besides the racing is that we have some really good people helping us out. Rod Lake has helped us out this year and want to be a part of our program, Woody Kyle will be building us a motor for the Arizona mile, D & D Exhaust will be on board with exhausts for all of our bikes. Top One Oil will be furnishing us with their products, A & A Racing is helping any way that they can. Shift will be furnishing our riding gear, JG Photoworks will be helping out again in the photo department. CP Pistons will be in all our bikes and Lightshoe will be our hot shoe of choice. Fusion Graphic will again provide some great graphics -making our bikes look awesome. Celorie Brothers Trucking will again sponsor our plane tickets and Mike Velasco and Brothers Powersports will be our main sponsor, as in the past, with motor work, bikes, transportation and more. We're really looking foward to this season - stay tuned! We just got back from Daytona. The outdoor season is officially under way. We had some good races, but felt that we should have done better. November 2009
We just got back from Pomona. Brad took 2nd in the Pro Singles class and 4th in the Gene Romero Open Class. It was a good way to wrap up the GNC season. Sunday, October 25th, was the AMA flat track awards banquet. That turned out to be a lot of fun! Brad’s motorcycle was on display at the entrance – along with a really cool poster of Brad, Henry Wiles, and  Kenny Coolbeth.  Brad received a Number 1 plate and a huge trophy cup. Kip and Scott received the “Pro Singles Mechanics of the Year Award”. This was quite a surprise, as we were not even aware this category existed. Brad will spend the next few months riding the local indoor races, as will Scott. Brad also plans on doing some ice racing with Joe Kopp, as well as trying to get to Michigan to do some ice racing with his buddies over there. He’ll be trying to get his twins ride lined up for next year and is definitely looking forward to the 2010 season. He’s got his sights set on the “Rookie of the Year Award”!

September 2009
We just returned from Springfield, Illinois  - where Brad wrapped up the Pro Singles championship with a win on the short track. We’re thrilled – to say the least! Scott also raced at Springfield – timing in fifth fastest. We are back home for a while – it’ll be fun racing the local tracks again. Be sure to check to check out the race results section. Thanks again for everyone’s support!

August 2009
It’s been a busy month of racing! Brad has been living in New York with the Weidman family. They have been getting him and his bikes to all the races. We can’t thank them enough. I honestly don’t know what we would have done without them! Brad took 1st place in Hagerstown, 3rd in Rapid City, 3rd at Grove City, and 3rd again at Peoria this last weekend. He is still leading the points standings by 5 points. Next up is Indy and then he will come home for a few days – school is starting! Be sure and check out his race reports. Scott is still working hard and racing at the local tracks each weekend. He set fast time at the Gene Romero races in Oregon a couple of weeks ago and just won at Rainier last weekend. He’s hoping to race at Springfield in a couple of weeks.

July 2009
We just got back from a long road trip. The first stop was Bulls Gap, Tenn. Brad loved this track and his times showed it! He qualified first in the pro class and his times were good enough to be fourth best in the expert class. He won his race and got back the points lead that he had lost in Springfield. Next up was Lima, Ohio. He had trouble with this track, but his eighth place finish was good enough to keep him in the points lead. He then headed to DuQuoin, Ill. for five days of racing at the amateur nationals. There he ended up the overall winner in the Pro Class. (Be sure to read the race results section for all the details on these races) All in all, it was a pretty successful trip! Next up is a hot shoe race in West Virginia on July 24th and then the GNC race at Hagerstown, Md. on July 25th. Meanwhile, back at home, Scott is working and racing on the weekends at the local tracks. He has been doing well and making pretty good spending money. He’s not very good about writing race reports – which is why you haven’t seen anything from him lately in the race results section. Hopefully, he’ll contribute something soon! Thanks for all your support – we’ll keep you posted.

May 2009
We just got back from Springfield, Illinois. The weekend didn’t go quite as we had hoped. Brad really wanted to win the TT. It is usually his best track. Unfortunately, he crashed three times and ended up having to settle for 15th place. Check out JGPhotowerx for some great pics – including one of Brad’s bike cartwheeling down the track! He fared better on the mile. He set fast time in the second qualifying session and had third fastest time overall, behind J.D. and James Rispoli. The main was a great race. Coming across the line, it looked like he had third place, but ended up in fifth by .002 of a second. Go to the race results section to read Brad’s race report on this weekend and, again, be sure and check out JGPhotowerx for some great pics. He went to Springfield in first place, but left in second place by just one point. He’s more determined than ever to go to Bull’s Gap and win back his points lead! Scott was unable to go to Springfield due to work obligations. We really missed him there, especially since the day of the TT race (May 23rd) was his 19th birthday…

March 2009
Just got back from bike week in Daytona – boy, did we have fun! At Round 1 at the Daytona short track, Brad timed in second fastest and won the pro singles main. In the expert class, Scott timed in 28th. This got him into the program with a shot at making the main.  Unfortunately, he didn’t make the main, but he rode really well. He described it as a real dogfight out there! Round 2 at Daytona found Brad with fast time and fast heat. He came up one spot short in the main to take second. Be sure to check out the race results section for all the details.  All in all, it was a great week of  racing! Brad came away from Daytona with the lead in the pro singles class. We’re looking forward to Round 3.

January 2009
The 2009 racing season will bring some changes for the Baker Boys. Scott is living away from home and will be riding for Schenk Racing Enterprises. Brad will be racing the new Pro class. He still isn’t sixteen yet and he will be racing his last amateur race at Gene Romero’s West Coast Flat Track Series in Las Vegas on January 9th and 10th. He will turn pro in February and make his pro debut in Daytona in March. The plan is to make as many GNC races as possible. We still don’t know if there will be a Pro Sport class at the amateur nationals in Duquoin in July. We will be there if there is. We will just take it one race at a time. We will also try and go to as many road races and supermoto races as possible. Be sure to check our race results to find out how he’s doing. Thanks for everybody’s support!
